So you want to build a simple but effective pulse oximeter for medical applications. What tools are required? Well, there are a few things that you will need. You will need to find a pulse oximeter case for a fixed size of oximeter and make sure that it fits securely. You can choose from many different cases that will fit your needs. If you order lighted pens, lights or other medical tools with fuses, coils and other relays already attached, all that you need to do is simply splice the pulse bar plug to the corresponding harness + and - terminals on the lighted switch. If the switch has a lighted button, simply splice this into the center wire of your 3 that come on the plug, it is either blue or red. The wires are then connected to a jumpers. One of the wires is labeled " junction" and the other one is labeled "light". You will see the jumpers close by an indicator light. The next step is to connect the LED light to the lighted switch. You can use a 9V battery, the iPhone using a power adaptor or you can solder the LED to the wire that comes on the pulse bar connector. This is done for ease of construction. Once this is done, you can attach the other end of the wire to the glass surface of your iPhone using a soldering iron or a hot glue gun. If you read the last paragraph of this article, you may have thought that the pulse bar is connected to three wires. In fact, there are only two wires actually connected to the device. This is done in order to prevent interference and to prevent shorting of the power. However, the LED lights are powered on all the time, thus, shorting the power will not be an issue. The next question that comes to our mind is why we are attaching the LED light to the wire. Why would we do that? There are actually a lot of reasons why we would do that. One of them is for demonstration purposes. If you were to ask someone why they would not want to make use of this application because of the difficulty that the jcase fuse has, then they would tell you that the visual presentation is much more better with the jcase fuse attached. At one point in time, the pulse bar had become extremely popular among those who perform acts such as longsling and marina operations. All of these operations use longslee rigs. For example, longslee rigs in the UK are made up of six to seven longslee(TM) cables, each of which is connected to the next by a 10-gage wire. In a common setup, there will be a longslee cable, a center cable, and two or three extra longslee cables that are connected to the first and last cables through a common center conductor. This means that there are a total of eight connections on a longslee cable. A pulse bar works in the same manner. The difference here is that the pulse detection device is connected to a computer that is capable of running some mathematical algorithms to determine the exact time when the two longslee cables are joined. When these two longslee cables are joined, the computer can then calculate the exact time that the pulse rate of the heart beats. With this information, the computer will then determine if the heart beat is high or low. Due to the fact that we have already been discussing some of the benefits of using the pulse bar, we also need to discuss some of the applications of this product. Some of these applications include helping us keep a check on our blood pressure, and even being able to monitor our pulse rate. One very interesting application of this device is the ability of it being used as a game console. Many manufacturers have included pod lights that are located at the front of the console that are used to provide game stats for the player such as how many points they have scored during the game, and other such statistics. |
